You Picked Up a Basil Plant from the Brizaga Booth!
If you stopped by the Brizaga booth at Water Matters Day 2026 and picked up a basil plant, congratulations! You’re now the caretaker of a little piece of green goodness.
We handed out basil as a reminder that small actions can grow into something meaningful. Just like healthy plants depend on the right balance of water, sunlight, and care, strong communities depend on thoughtful planning, sustainability, and resilience.
Basil is also one of the easiest and most rewarding herbs to grow. With just a little attention, it will keep producing fresh leaves you can use in everything from pasta to homemade pesto.
Here are three simple tips to help your basil thrive:
Give it a drink when it’s thirsty.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
Let it soak up the sunshine.
Basil loves sunlight, aiming for 6–8 hours each day.
Snip to help it grow.
Regularly pinch leaves just above a leaf pair to encourage fuller growth.
With the right care, your basil will keep growing, and hopefully remind you that even small things can make a big difference.
