Alex Boswell, FPEM

Senior Resilience Planner

Alex Boswell is a Senior Resilience Planner for Brizaga located in our Tampa Office. Her responsibilities include leading resilience planning projects, science communications, and strategic review of policies related to long-term resilience.   

She joins the team as a Florida Professional Emergency Manager with a strong emergency management and resilience background. Alex spent the last five years of her career helping communities prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate natural disasters, including Hazard Mitigation Grant Program applications and Hazard Mitigation Plans to create a more resilient community. She has responded to a variety of disasters including the most recent major storm to hit Florida, Hurricane Idalia. By meshing both resilience planning and emergency management, Alex brings a unique perspective that bridges the gap between often siloed departments.  

Alex served as the Chief of Staff for Florida’s First Chief Resilience Officer. In this role, she met with a variety of local resilience officers to take stock of programs and projects occurring throughout the state. She helped make connections from the local to the state level on the resilience work throughout Florida.  

Alex has a Master of Science in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science and Forest Resources with an emphasis in Wildlife and a Bachelor of Arts in Digital and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Georgia. In her free time, Alex watches UGA football games, plays in various kickball leagues, goes to Lightning games, and enjoys the wonderful beaches and breweries in Tampa Bay.
