Managing the Path to SEAWALL Resilience
Brizaga has provided professional engineering and regulatory permitting services for designing and constructing the seawall at Bayview Cadillac. These services included data collection and review of relevant site information, development of design criteria, engineering and constructability analysis, and preparation of contract drawings. Additionally, Brizaga assisted Bayview Cadillac with the bidding process and contractor selection. Brizaga’s engineers coordinated with municipal, county, state, and federal regulatory agencies, and the Brizaga team provided special inspection and construction administration services during the construction phase.

OUR ROLE
During the project, the Brizaga team performed a coastal engineering analysis for seawall improvements with considerations based on site requirements, existing condition, and local seawall ordinances. Conducted similar analysis and design for the construction of residential docks. Produced construction drawings, sufficiently detailed such that the contractor has clear direction relating to the materials and methods of construction. Assisted during the bidding process, including preparation of all bid documents, construction contracts, and bidder selection. Coordinated with regulatory agencies to approve the construction of the project as designed. Led the construction administration for the project. Acted as special inspector to produce pile logs to be submitted for approval by local building departments.
